Based in Galloway, Scotland, Joshua Williams is a studio potter working in contemporary slipware. His practice draws on locally sourced clays, wood ash, and reclaimed fragments to create functional objects shaped by landscape and time. Each design draws from British slipware traditions, producing pieces that feel both rooted in heritage and driving quiet evolution forward.

For Ellis Works, Joshua makes the Cairnsmore ceramic cabinet knob, thrown by hand with wood ash glazes in Cream, Amber, Green and Cream/Black. No two knobs are exactly alike.
